Project description

The Pencil Factory located at 122 West Street was a project completed under our mother company in 2010. The location was the site of, you guessed it, a pencil factory that was converted to 93 residential condos. We were hired to supply 93 kitchens and 130 bathroom vanities of all sizes. The vanity pictured is suspended off the floor and comes complete with a custom mirrored medicine cabinet. The Pencil Factory, originally built in 1872 for the Eberhard Faber pencil company, it has been modernized with a virtual doorman, and amenities galore. Amenities included: common roof deck, fitness center, on-site parking, bike & residential unit storage.

Greenpoint Brooklyn began its transformation in 1839 when an investor named Neziah Bliss, he played a significant role in purchasing most of what was known as Greenpoint. In 1839 he opened a public turnpike which is known today as Franklin Street, furthering his investment he established regular ferry service in 1850 to Manhattan. These strides bought on industrial developments and for a large chunk of Greenpoints life it spurred maritime manufacturers to produce ropes that were needed on the waterways. Some of those factories have been converted but today if you visit Greenpoint brooklyn many older building have been transformed in modern living space much like the Pencil Factory.
